Free Museum After Hours

  • Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art 2818 Frederick Avenue Saint Joseph, MO, 64506 United States (map)

Join us for July After Hours at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art on Tuesday, July 22 from 4–7pm!

This month, we’re thrilled to welcome Max Guenther for a special talk on the architecture of St. Joseph, beginning at 5pm in the auditorium. His presentation will highlight the Missouri Theater and reference artist Waylande Gregory, who created the stunning interior ornamentation for both the theater and City Hall.

Guests can also explore a small exhibition in the Barclay Gallery featuring works by renowned architect Edmond Eckel, a key figure in shaping St. Joseph’s architectural identity and a contemporary influence on both the Missouri Theater and City Hall. The exhibit ties directly into Max’s talk, offering a richer historical context.

Plus, representatives from the Missouri Department of Conservation will be on site with activities and information celebrating Missouri’s natural heritage.

Admission is free, with dinner available for purchase and a cash bar on site. Don’t miss this evening of art, architecture, and local history!

And if you enjoy Max’s presentation, be sure to catch his upcoming program at the Downtown Library on July 26, where he’ll dive deeper into City Hall and the City Beautiful movement.
